Quint Studer, named one of the “Top 100 Most Powerful People” by Modern Healthcare, has gained national recognition (USA Today, Inc. Magazine, Investor’s Business Daily) as a change agent and thought leader in health care today because he so aptly links a sustained focus on service, quality, employee and patient satisfaction with growth and bottom-line results.

Quint’s first book, Hardwiring Excellence, was published in April 2004 and has since sold more than 70,000 copies. His second book, 101 Answers to Questions Leaders Ask, was released in March 2005. Quint also serves on the Board of Directors of the 32,000 member Healthcare Financial Management Association (the national professional association of CFOs and finance executives in health care).

With his early training in teaching (B.A. degree in education and M.S. degree in education from University of Wisconsin, Whitewater), Quint’s classroom is today one of the largest in health care. He and his team at Studer Group coach more than 400 hospitals and health systems on their journey to becoming world-class leaders in service and operational excellence. Studer Group clients span the nation and include every type of health care organization (for-profit and not-for-profit), from small rural hospitals to some of the most-respected organizations and largest health systems. Before founding Studer Group, Quint spent nearly 20 years inside health care, beginning in a staff position, later becoming COO of Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago and President of the Baptist Hospital Inc. in Pensacola, FL, where the hospital was awarded the Quality Cup by USA Today and Rochester Institute of Technology. At Holy Cross and Baptist, Quint led both organizations to the top one percent in employee and patient satisfaction compared to hospitals nationwide, as ranked by independent health care survey organizations.

His Five Pillar approach to achieving operational excellence sets goals and measures progress under service, people, quality, finance, and growth. In 2005 he received two high honors: awards from PRC (Professional Research Consultants) prestigious Presidents Award for his impact in changing health care and SHCAs (Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy) for his impact on the quality of care for consumers.
